Plan Your Work and Work Your Plan

You won't believe how many times I get asked…how do you stay consistent with your Instagram page? Or they may say I just can’t post everyday…. IT’S TEAM TOO MUCH! I don’t know what to post; I just don’t have the time.
Whelp if you want to increase your engagement and following you NEED to be consistent with your posting, so “ not having time” is just not an option #sorrynotsorry.
Most people do not know that I run two Instagram accounts by myself. Which includes posting everyday, being active on IG story, and planning IG Live segments for each of those pages. So how am I able to keep up with my Instagram pages along with the 10000 things I have to do? PLANNING!
If you try to post day by day it will be TOO MUCH! Life happens, and there is always something popping up! By the time you look at the clock, it 's time to post and you have NO idea what you want to post, let alone a compelling caption or hash tags to use…. Anyone else been there? Yes I have too, that is why I started planning my content.
There are millions of different tools, apps, and ways that you can plan your content. (I actually created a content calendar for you to easily plan your content, click here to get yours). Whatever tool you use, just make sure that you are able to get all of your ideas written down and organized.
I know what you are thinking…planning content for 30 days? Where do I start?
When I am helping my clients plan for the month I always tell them to think of a big picture then narrow in on the day-to-day post. Let me explain, before you start planning the actual content think about what items you want to sell that month, what events are happening, what season is it, what opportunities do you want to create for yourself, etc. This will help you curate the post because they will all stem from one of those bigger ideas!
Next, start writing down content ideas: call to action post, behind the scenes, family photo etc. You want to make sure that your content ideas are aligning with the bigger goal or image you are trying to create this month. Once you have a list of ideas and make sure they are realigning with your main goal start plugin them and schedule them for certain days.
What content you post on what day depends on your audience and what you are actually posting. If I have a business post I may choose to post that on a Tuesday, but if I have a personal photo of me out at an event I may post that on a weekend. Do not think too much about this step, as long as the content is good you will receive the engagement you are looking for.
After you have planned your content ideas for the month, the next thing you want to do is actually plan the details of your post for that particular week. I help my clients pick out photos for the entire week, along with captions and hash tags and then we save all of those photos in the draft section of their Instagram page. So that when they go to post their photos the only thing they have to do is click POST!
I know this may seem like a lot at first, but trust me this will save you A LOT of time and stress about not having to worry about what you are going to post for the day. You can also utilize apps such as Buffer and other scheduling apps to remind you to post at that particular time (or you can set an alarm on your iPhone)
